Our staff at Fish Ops are experienced Baja Spiny Lobster fisherman who love fishing. We provide expert advice and recommendations and we have the right hoop net gear.

We provide the proper equipment, such as a beautiful 22' Cobia center console boat with onboard head/restroom. We also have the maximum amount of hoop nets as allowed by Calif Fish and Game regulations. We have great electronics such as
2 GPS/Fish finder screens, radar, bluetooth stereo and even a heater!
Finally we have a Trac Pot Puller to maximize your hoop netting time and energy, ensuring you get the best value for your money.

About Us
The Boat
- "Chayzn Tail" is a 21 foot Cobia Center Console designed for fishing
- Two Garmin GPS fishfinders to identify and locate the fish
- 30 gallon live bait well
- Amenities include: on board head (toilet), seating up to 6 passengers, shaded top, cooler, storage compartments, USCG safety equipment including life vests for passengers of all ages, stereo system, and VHF radio.
The Big Boat
- “Moody MAKO” is a 25 foot MAKO Center Console designed for fishing
- GPS /fishfinders to identify and locate the fish
- 30 gallon live bait well
- Amenities include:), seating up to 6 passengers, shaded top, cooler, storage compartments, USCG safety equipment including life vests for passengers of all ages, stereo system, and VHF radio.
Fishing Trips
- Customized fishing trips from 3 - 10 hours.
- Select your start time and the length of the trip. Fishing trips begin as early as 5:00 a.m.
- The optimal time to fish is generally in the morning hours.
- Catalina trips require a minimum booking of 8 hours.
- Depending on the season, trips will target calico bass, sand bass, halibut, bonito, barracuda, sculpin, sheepshead, rockfish, yellowtail, dorado, and tuna.
- Trips include all fishing rods, tackle, gear, and bait.
- Bottled water included. Feel free to bring your own beverages (no glass bottles) and snacks on board.
- Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, and Dramamine are highly recommended.
- All trips run by experienced USCG licensed captains.
Fishing Lessons/Training
- Designed for anglers of all skill levels
- Knot tying, casting skills, fishing techniques, rod and reel basics
- Bait selection, lure presentation
- Fish species recognition
- Learn the proper techniques to target local fish species: spotted bay bass, calico bass, sand bass, barracuda, bonito, halibut, sculpin, sheepshead, and rockfish!
- Learn how to read the electronics on a boat to consistently locate fish: sonar, fish finder, depth, structure, water temperature
